Helen Petros, N.P., P.A.

We are very pleased to announce a wonderful, knowledgeable, caring, experienced and ethical provider. Her name is Helen Petros and she is certified as both a Nurse Practitioner and a Physician Assistant. She has over 30 years of medical practice and 9 years specialized in medical surgical dermatology, where she has managed, diagnosed and treated a loyal group of patients.

Her extensive clinical and educational foundation has given her expertise in managing and treating psoriasis, eczema, acne, skin infections, skin cancers and all forms of dermatological conditions involving skin, hair and nails. She is extremely qualified to diagnose and treat dermatological conditions, order and interpret lab tests, perform biopsies, remove moles, skin cancers, warts, skin lesions, tumors as well as write prescriptions under the direct supervision of Dr. Michael Tomcik. (who has been in Dermatology since 1974—experience counts!)

Helen's background prior to the specialized field of Dermatology was as a provider in a family medical practice in Western Massachusetts. Her background in internal medicine provides a more comprehensive experience in the treatment of Dermatological conditions and the nuanced relation to other medical conditions. Additionally, Helen is another resource in the practice for the application of cosmetic products such as Botox and fillers.

Her knowledge of dermatology has resulted in an appointment to the editorial board of Dermatology Nursing, a national peer reviewed journal to which she has also been a contributing author. Helen has earned a Master’s Degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program and a Bachelor of Science, both from the University of Massachusetts. She graduated from these programs Summa Cum Laude and Cum Laude, respectively. Her associate degree in Nursing was also with honors.
